Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Opening for a Research Technician in sodium ion battery research. This position involves a combination of modeling and experiment, performing research on next generation sodium ion battery (NIB) materials.

Positions Responsibilities:
• Performs modeling and experimental work as part of the assigned project
• Makes detailed observations, performs analysis on data and interprets results
• Prepares activity reports and contributes to writing papers which summarize research findings for peer-reviewed journals
• Complies with any requirements of the awarding authority
• Keeps updated on related subjects and professional issues, in particular, developments in the specific subject area
• Shows professionalism in matters pertaining to laboratory hygiene, organization and safety; observes and takes an active role in fulfilling all statutory health and safety regulations

Minimum Qualifications

Masters’ Degree in related field

Essential Skills:
Experience in performing simulations, with associated publications.
A demonstrated publication record in battery and/or electrochemical capacitor materials in journals with Thomson Reuters impact factor (IF) greater than 10.
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with U.S. national laboratories.
Demonstrated experience in working with carbon-related materials for energy applications.
Demonstrated experience with the Department of Energy (DOE) programs, including working on DOE funded projects.
