Job Description Summary

The Director of International Graduate Admissions & Recruitment will lead and manage the international recruitment and manage all international recruitment activities for Clarkson University’s Graduate School and working closely with the undergraduate Vice President for Enrollment and Student Advancement and Vice President for International Relations.

The incumbent will develop strategic goals and operational plans to achieve the university’s international enrollment objectives. These include: meeting with prospective students in person and online, attending international graduate and professional education fairs, visiting feeder universities in the US and abroad, and conducting webinars.

Position Responsibilities
• Develop multi-year strategy to increase international student body, including research on relevant countries to target recruitment efforts.
• Create annual international recruitment plan to permit planning and scheduling, as well as adequate budget projections.
• Make recommendations to adjust admissions requirements, as needed, to meet recruitment goals, while guaranteeing academic standards are met.
• Track student demographics, quality indicators, feeder schools, geographic location, etc. to use in adjusting recruitment plans with enrollment objectives.
• Collaborate with office on all campuses to develop predictive modeling tools that will help in the creation of a successful recruitment plan needed to shape the graduate student population, increase enrollment yields, and improve selectivity to meet the university enrollment goals.
• Participate in all events (on and off-campus, including international) as scheduled in the recruitment plan ensuring increase in lead generation and applications.
• Research recruiting techniques and feedback from current students that can be leveraged to improve current recruitment plans.
• Collaborate with the Undergraduate recruitment team to advance overall international enrollment.
• Develop multiple channels of communication, including online, search, advertising, etc., to complement recruitment travel and events.
• Propose plan to implement an agent network to increase applications enrollments. Ensure university quality standards for ethical counseling are met.
• Ensure international student requirements are incorporated into the CRM, to maximize data integrity.
• Reach out through existing relationships of the University’s – such as alumni – to support the development of a broader network to enhance international recruitment.
• Work closely with digital marketing & recruiting to create effective social media campaigns and ad campaigns.
• Provide training to campus colleagues on issues related to international recruitment and admission, as needed, on topics such as transcript evaluation.
• Effectively use data to assess strategy and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education (Required): Masters’ degree in Business, Marketing, Higher Education or related field.

Experience (Required): At least 8 years of higher education experience in admissions of which at least 5 years must have a focus on international recruitment that includes representing the university at international graduate fairs, working with foreign universities to create recruitment opportunities. Demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment, and marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective, including the use of integrated marketing campaigns and social media to improve the recruitment and enrollment of international students. Proven success launching successful recruitment campaigns from concept to deployment to results within a given budget. Record of success in meeting international enrollment and geographical diversity goals. Experience working with Education USA and similar organizations to enhance outreach initiatives. Using social media as part of recruiting strategies with experience creating innovative and effective social media campaigns.
