Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions & Recruitment as part of a cross-trained, proactive admissions & recruitment team, the Assistant Director will effectively develop and utilize recruitment strategies; manage prescribed recruitment territories for the graduate school; prioritize recruitment goals and complete projects as changing strategies dictate; effectively use data to inform and assess priorities and goals. This position will have responsibility for application oversight for the Graduate School programs. This includes recruiting prospective students, nurturing inquiries, coordinating the application process; attending recruitment fairs and events; and actively managing a personal contact campaign via multiple mediums to assure exceptional service. The position requires evening and weekend work, flexible hours and travel.

General Purpose: Recruit high quality applicants for the Graduate School programs by assisting the Director of Admissions & Recruitment with developing and implementing recruitment strategies, and extensive personal communication with prospects.

• Partner with the Director in the on-going development, planning, implementation and assessment of recruitment strategies, tactics, policies and processes.
• Utilize inquiry and applicant data on a daily basis to determine which schools, events, fairs and students to strategically target, and which tactics to employ, in order to meet team application goals.
• Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus recruiting and yield events such as graduate fairs, career fairs, individual school visits, webinars, and information sessions. This includes selecting venues and vendors, managing performance and payment of vendors within the set budget, coordinating logistics, securing volunteers, presenting and assisting with content development, and coordinating event execution.
• Travel to various recruiting events and universities to market graduate programs to prospective students. This includes making fiscally-sound decisions surrounding travel and recruitment tactics, preparing detailed trip reports and reconciling all travel expenses.
• Proactively seeks out, establishes and nurtures prospective student relationships with communication plans that integrate in-person appointments, outbound and inbound phone calls, and emails, driving towards complete applications.
• Build relationships with applicants for graduate programs and assist them throughout the application process, facilitating correspondence between prospective students, the faculty, and staff when appropriate.
• Maintain all applicants in Slate to ensure they move through the process as efficiently as possible, ensuring accurate application data to assist with recruitment, enrollment and revenue tracking and reporting
• Maintain in depth knowledge and effectively articulate the value and benefits of the University and its various graduate program offerings and admission requirements, keeping up to date with new programs and varying admission requirements across schools, programs, and partner agreements.

• Maintain excellent relationships with joint program schools and coordinate joint program details. Research and coordinate with Director possible new articulation agreements and relationships.
• Conduct event and visit ROI analysis.
• Continuously assess and recommend improvements to marketing and recruitment tools to increase effectiveness.
• Assists with other projects, administrative duties and initiatives as assigned.

• Position to include up to 50% travel with overnight travel required.

• Must have excellent analytical skills, understanding of recruitment strategies and demonstrated experience using data and technology.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain productive working relationships with varied constituents.
• Must be willing to travel extensively, work evenings and weekends and have a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to become technically proficient with Slate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a college admissions/enrollment/recruiting role with demonstrated competence.

Must be willing to travel extensively, work evenings and weekends and have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership, Business, or another related field from a regionally accredited institution strongly preferred.

Experience using Slate preferred.
